Port Blair, April 21: On April 12, 2024, the diligent efforts of the Pahargaon Police team culminated in the apprehension of Soubhagya Ranjan Swain, aged 44, hailing from Narshingpur, Kendrapara, Odisha, who had long eluded the law. This decisive action followed the issuance of a Non-Bailable Warrant stemming from a 2010 case registered at PS Pahargaon under sections 420/417/376 of the IPC.

Mayabunder, April 21: In a delightful rendezvous with the future torchbearers of the society, the Deputy Commissioner (N&MA), Shri Dilkhush Meena, IAS graced the ‘Meet and Greet’ function at GSS Mohanpur -5, organized for the new fledgling students of the Pre-Primary and Primary sections of both remotest Schools viz. Port Blair, April 21: In a testament to their diligence, the Pahargaon Police team once again demonstrated their efficacy by apprehending an individual under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act 1985, seizing 52 grams of illicit cannabis.

On 17/04/2024, amidst heightened security measures for the 2024 general elections, the police intensified their scrutiny by conducting meticulous vehicle and personal checks near Hotel Zone Connect under Pahargaon jurisdiction. During this checking, SI Saorabh Kumar Pandey of PS Pahargaon received vital intelligence about movement of some ganja based on which checking was further increased at the point. Delving into their search, the vigilant team uncovered a suspicious package enveloped in transparent polythene, suspected to contain illicit substances, in the possession of Jasveer Singh (24) from Sippighat.

Port Blair, April 21: In continuation of receiving the Polled materials for the Polling held for the lone Lok Sabha seat in A&N Islands on April, 19, the Polled EVMs and VVPAT machines from Diglipur & Mayabunder Tehsils arrived at Port Blair today and have been stored in the Strong Room at JNRM amid full security.

The receiving of the polled materials from different Tehsils is being done under the supervision of CEO, ANIPC, Shri B.S. Jaglan, IAS, RO, Shri Arjun Sharma, IAS, Observers and other Election & Police Officials. As per the guidelines of the ECI, the Political Parties, contesting candidates or their representatives are being informed during the storage of Polled EVMs and VVPAT machines.
